Hello!! We are songwriters living in the Nashville area. We focus mainly on writing commercial country, but love all kinds of music. All the songs presented on this site are original material. The recordings were produced and sung by us using our home studio equipment. We are currently saving money to have our songs professionally demoed. Thanks for checking out our page! Let us know who you are so we can check out your page. You can never have too many friends in this business!

THE STORY OF ZAC & JEN

Zac Champ grew up in beautiful southeastern Connecticut, listening to pop, rock, R&B and metal. He attended the University of Connecticut and majored in Fine Art. His plan was to eventually work in the field of graphic design---but plans change. While living in the dorm, Zac discovered one of his floor-mates had a guitar. That, coupled with the fact that Zac’s future brother-in-law was an accomplished guitarist, pretty much sealed his fate. It wasn’t long before Zac found that learning the instrument was more satisfying than going to class and doing school work. It was during that time that he penned his first song. He did manage to graduate from UConn in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art. When recalling those touch-and-go college years, Zac says with a chuckle, “I may have majored in graphic design, but I definitely minored in music….or was it the other way around?”

Jen Covey was born in California, but lived in several different states throughout her childhood. She lived in Washington, Florida, Virginia and Massachusetts before settling in southeastern Connecticut. Jen’s place of residence may have changed often, but one thing that remained constant was her love of music. She listened to pop, rock, R&B, metal and country and even recalls writing her own songs as early as age eight. Jen attended The Sawyer School and planned for a future in travel & tourism. But her plans would also change.

Upon meeting in the summer of 1999, Zac and Jen discovered their mutual love of music. Romance soon followed, and so did a new plan: MOVE TO NASHVILLE AND WRITE SONGS FOR A LIVING. In an effort to free up time to pursue their goal, Zac and Jen ditched their consuming day jobs and started their own house cleaning service. Now, with the luxury of being able to make their own schedule, they spent much of their new-found free time saving for the eventual move, reading songwriting books, writing, and attending regular meetings held by the Connecticut Songwriters Association www.ctsongs.com . In October of 2003, Zac and Jen got married and embarked on the next stage of their lives together, both personal and professional. But, in what has become a reoccurring theme in this story, plans changed. The romantic spark that once drove their relationship fizzled and the marriage ended. The good news is that, through this tough time, Zac and Jen were able to remain friends, keep their cleaning business and, most importantly, keep writing. Ironically, it’s the time since the divorce that has yielded the two collaborators’ strongest songs to date.

Then, in November of 2007, the event that literally spent eight years in the making finally toke place. Zac and Jen fulfilled a large part of their goal by making the move to Nashville. As Jen has often said, “It may have taken longer than we thought it would, but we made it!” Upon settling in to their new homes, they set up shop---once again cleaning houses to fund their wild and crazy journey. Presently, Zac and Jen are working hard writing new songs, making new friends, and exploring the many new opportunities that the ever-changing musical landscape has to offer.
