"When I listened to "Top 40" radio in the sixties you would hear a motown song followed by British Invasion, country, folk, pop etc. Whatever were the top selling records in the country. So you had such a variety of music and mixes." "These days. if a song doesn't sound just like everything else you hear on the radio, you get low marks. I personally think a lot of the new music is crap, and I loved your song and the visions of the golden era of music that it reminded me of!! Mick Daniel and the Raynmen - a rootsy, hard-hitting quartet that can fit easily into a rockabilly/cowpunk/alt country or even classic rock venue/category.

The songs range from poignant to light-hearted in theme, with Mick's sense of humour - sometimes dark, sometimes silly - sneaking in where you most and least expect it.

They're a little bit country ... a little bit rock and roll ... a lot rootsy ...

Based in Calgary, many of their songs have a western-Canadian flavour and references to local places and topics.

He was also featured in this month's newsletter from Taxi.com for successful placements by that A&R company!

On Friday, June 12, 2009 the band was showcased on 1060 Classic Country in Calgary, Canada.
