“I blend a little pop with jazz, dance, rock and hip-hop, a kind of minimalist type sound,” says Scott Waite of his startling and original music. “Music is my passion and the lifeline of life and I try to convey that with every second of my music.” And SCOTW8 (his stage name) is confident audiences will appreciate what he has to offer. Of that there’s no doubt. SCOTW8 blends his various influences in such a surprising and affecting way, it’s impossible not to get caught up in what he’s doing. His creative process turns out music that catches the ear with its distinctiveness and keeps the attention through solid songwriting. SCOTW8 is an elite, one of those rare artists who can offer music that is easily accessible but which resonates with sharp individuality.
"Everything Around Me Draws my inspiration musically,"
SCOTW8 could be said to be wide-eyed. Everywhere he looks he sees inspiration. It helps bring a certain universal quality to his songwriting since he incorporates inspiration from a massive variety of inspiration. “I am inspired by everything around me.” The “everything” also includes musical styles. SCOTW8 doesn’t limit himself to particular flavors. He sees muse-starting potential in new wave, R&B, rap, electronica – everything. And while he likes to work behind the curtain, so to speak, he is open to whatever the future may hold – and it’s full of possibilities considering the formidable talent on hand here. “I am more behind the scenes, because my main love is to produce beats or music, but if I do anything as an artist and it takes off … why not?”

Writing, writing, writing! SCOTW8 never stops writing and his current canon of song is huge. “I am always writing and have about 260 unpublished songs I hope I can shop around for artists to record with me …” Recording is also a constant. “I work on a beat, song or remix a day and have since 2005. I am always fine-tuning.” Day&Nite Music is SCOTW8’s corner of the music world and it’s the headquarters of prime musical activity. He has announced the release of his debut album in the near future. “I am a very humble, fun-loving, motivated man who works hard to get what he wants and won’t stop until he gets it.” SCOTW8 is currently working with A&R Select, the leading indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
